Uhuru, Kenyans get 10/10 for perfect Pope Francis visit

27 November 2015, 17:16 Victor Tinto

Nairobi - Kenyans get 10/10 for their perfect reception of Pope Francis during his visit.

The visit is ended, but the memories will remain in force.

Described by international media and observers as a trip that would cause logistical and security nightmares, the Pope's visit turned out to be a show of perfect planning and unity, one which will be remembered by many in the current generation.

From the planning, which was fantastic, to the show of unity by the country's political folk, to the way Kenyans reacted and played out the visit, it was inch perfect.

The one million people mass on Thursday, which was expected to be a nightmare turned out well despite the rain and Kenyans were patient and calm despite all wanting to get the best position to see the Pope.

And with the eyes of the world all placed on the country, seeking to find the smallest blemish to report on, Kenya delivered a good answer.

We are perfect.

" The visit has been fantastic. The planning was clearly well done and the leadership played it out perfectly. It was also a great show from Kenyans," Planning expert Judy Nangule told News24.

" I think it will be remembered as a trip that was more people oriented and despite the security challenges, was played out extremely well," he added.

Congratulations Kenya. You aced the Pope's visit.
