Uhuru eyes Nairobi in 2017

Nairobi - Watch out Evans Kidero. The Jubilee Coalition has set its sights on you.
The Presidency aside, the biggest coup Jubilee is seeking to pull off is to win the Nairobi Governor's seat, which will be a symbol of its leadership in the country, sources in the coalition say.
It has emerged that efforts are already being put in place to seek a positive candidate to usurp current Governor Kidero.
Kidero has been hit by a number of scandals and the ruling coalition feels it can easily get him out of office with the right strategy.
" Kidero is a liability and can be kicked out of office. There is serious thought and planning going into this," the Jubilee source told News24.
Thus the many faces seeking election through the Jubilee ticket.
From Anne Waiguru to Mike Mbuvi Sonko to Margaret Wanjiru and Dennis Waweru. The list is long but so far there is no one yet ready to beat Kidero according to analysts and observers.

" Nairobi is the seat of the country. If the Governor is Jubilee, things will move," the source added.
Kidero though will be hard to beat.
Being that he will seek to stand for re-election on a CORD ticket, beating him will be hard.
" The current Governor has the support of a number of blocks. The Luhya, Luo, Kamba as well as traditionally the Somalis in the city all will likely be behind him," analyst Michael Njenga says.
" To beat those votes will not be easy," he adds.
It is likely though that the coalition will lean towards Waiguru who has been on an image clean up mission in recent months.
" Waiguru is eyeing the seat and I believe that the coalition will look to her. She has a good reputation that is being cleaned up and is a lady. The city needs a lady, they will feel," he says.
Kidero though will have his work cut out.
" Kidero will see the mother of all Jubilee campaigns in Nairobi. He must be ready," the bullish source finished.
Starehe MP Maina Kamanda on his part feels that winning Nairobi is key.
" Nairobi matters for the profile of the Coalition. It is very important," he stated.
