Nairobi - President Uhuru Kenyatta has cancelled his tour to Ukambani for unknown reasons.
The President was set to visit the region this week but has pushed it to June for reasons not released by State House.
" The President is looking forward to the visits to interact with leaders and
residents and exchange views on the region's development needs," said spokesman Manoah Esipisu.
He said that the extra time should allow the completion of plans for the visit.
The visit was set to take place May 19,20 and 21.
The President was to visit Machakos, Kitui and Makueni, a visit which was causing jitters within the opposition CORD Coalition in which the region belongs to in terms of political support.
