Nyeri - A traffic police officer has committed suicide inside his house in Mukurweini, Nyeri, over job frustration.
Central Region Police boss, Larry Kyeng while confirming the incident said the officer, Corporal Martin Mwongera, left a note indicating that he felt frustrated at job.
However, other sources said that he killed himself after being transferred from the traffic department to the Region Headquarters office on disciplinary grounds.
The body was found dangling from a pair of bed-sheets inside his house.
His colleagues said Mwongera seemed depressed since his transfer.
“While working at Othaya traffic base, he was boasting that he had a lot of money but since he was transferred life became hard for him,” said a colleague who sought anonymity.
The body was taken to Mukurweini Hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem. For the latest on national news, politics, sport, entertainment and more follow us on Twitter and like our Facebook page!
