Nairobi - Several Nairobi County Members of Parliament drawn from President Kenyatta's The National Alliance (TNA) have ganged up against Senator Mike Sonko in the race for Nairobi governorship.
The group of MPs has vowed to edge out Sonko saying he is an ‘outsider’. The group is being led by Starehe MP, Maina Kamanda.
Speaking in a church function on Sunday, Kamanda said Sonko is unfit for the post.

“Nairobi governorship is not something to give to just anyone. There are people moving around here but they are unfit. We have seen more rich people but they don’t start things like Rescue teams,” Kamanda said.
“Nairobi will not be given to dogs, we will not allow it. When you see people giving money around, know that money was ill-gotten,” he added.
Sonko runs a Rescue Team which offers several services to locals. He is also known for his philanthropic nature where he lines up residents to give handouts.
