Nairobi - There was no MOU between CORD leader Raila Odinga and his co principal Kalonzo Musyoka, Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua has said.
There have been claims that Raila and Kalonzo agreed that the current CORD leader would step down on his behalf come the 2017 polls after allowing him to run for the Presidency in the elections in 2013.
Mutua though says that talk of an MOU is pure lies.
" That is just pure lies. How can we expect a president to step down for his running mate after one term," he ridiculed Kalonzo.
He added that the stories represented what was wrong with leadership in the Ukambani region.
" Our leaders are ready to play second fiddle and lie to themselves and the people that all is well. It is not acceptable," he added.
Mutua urged youth in the region to embrace change for the betterment of their futures.
" We need change. I urge youth in the region to seek change and look forward to new things," he added.
Mutua has been at loggerheads with Kalonzo over what he has described as need to have change in the mentality of Kamba people and have new things done for the people by different faces and not the same old ones.
