Nairobi - A theology student has been killed in cold blood by thugs who attacked his parents' home in Kiserian just outside Nairobi.
Kennedy Mwangi, a theology student at the Tangaza College was killed Monday night after being waylaid by thugs at the gate of his parents' house.
The thugs had been waiting for them to arrive and on entry, they attacked them and followed them into the home.
Kennedy though, managed to escape and hide in a toilet where he sent two messages to seek help from police.
But on searching for him, the thugs found him and inspected his phone, finding the two messages.
They then shot him in the stomach. He died later on from excessive bleeding.
Area police were notified of the incident and promised to seek the thugs and bring them to book.
" It is unfortunate that we have lost such a young man who tried to be brave in the face of adversity. We have launched a manhunt for the thugs," Ngong OCPD George Seda stated.
Incidences of thugs waiting for home owners at their gates have been rampant in Kiserian, with area residents decrying the increased numbers of such incidences.
Kiserian is 30 Kilometers away from the Nairobi CBD.
