Mombasa- The new Mombasa County commissioner Mohamed Maalim has vowed to deal with all suspected robbers who have been involving themselves in crimes.

Some of the places mostly affected by this gangs are Majengo, Likoni and Kisauni which has become home of the groups for the last one year.
Maalim was working in Bungoma County before he was transferred in Mombasa and replaced Evans Achoki who held the post for few months before being transferred to another county.
He promised that his effort will make sure that the gangs like Wakali Kwanza, Wakali Wao, Young Thugs, among others are no more in the area.
“I have heared about the funny names like Wakali Kwanza, I would like to warn them and my job as a public servant is not blaming leaders but to work. I want to see that every part of Mombasa County is safe 24 hours.” He said.
The gangs have been causing tension forcing several businesses including shops to close early thus affecting the economy of the said area.
