The Affordable Art show hits Nairobi
19 October 2016, 21:55
Nairobi - To the average person, art has been portrayed as something
that only the rich in our societies should have hanging on their walls, due to
the exorbitant prices appended to these pieces.
On average decent wall art in
Nairobi will cost you an arm and a leg, depending on the artists and how well
known they are. The Affordable Art Show just like the name suggest is a
showcase of art that one could consider affordable from artists in Nairobi with
the price limit being set at KES 100,000 and below.
Hosted by the Kenyan National Museums, the event will see
artists submit their artwork to the organisation, which will provide them with
a market space of sorts to sell their art in.
It is a 3 day event starting with
an opening party on Friday the 28th between 6 and 9pm for KES 500 followed by two days of nothing but art from 10am to 4pm with no cover charge
