Teen commits suicide after church

Nairobi - A cloud of shock and grief has engulfed residents of Mathangauta village in Mwea Sub-County, Kirinyaga, after body of a 15-year-old boy was found dangling from a tree outside their house.
The boy allegedly committed suicide after returning home from Church on Sunday evening.
The body was found on Monday morning by family members who expressed shock saying the boy did not appear to be distressed.
However, residents said the boy was frequently engaging in quarrels with his parents over his academic performance.
Others suspected that the Class Seven boy committed suicide because of being forced to go to school adding that he would regularly abscond classes.
Area police boss Mutoro Kizito said family members raised alarm attracting neighbours before police were called to the scene and moved the body to County Referral Hospital mortuary.
Kizito said police were investigating the matter to establish why the young boy decided to took away his life.
