Suspended NSSF director joins politics

Kericho - Suspended National Social Security Fund (NSSF) managing trustee Richard Langat has declared his intention to vie for the Kericho gubernatorial seat in the 2017 general elections.
Langat, who is a close ally of Energy and Petroleum Cabinet Secretary Charles Keter, said that his intentions to vie for the seat is driven by the need to stop misuse of resources, which has hampered development within the County.
"I want to develop the County and reduce wastage of resources which has hampered development," he said.
His entry into the race is likely to complicate matters in the race as he is seen as CS Keter's project to remove incumbent Governor, Paul Chepkwony.
Langat was suspended last year to pave way for investigations into the development of the Tassia II settlement scheme.
