Students to be registered as voters

Nyeri - High school students in Mathira constituency, Nyeri, will be registered with the polls body to allow them to participate in next year’s general election.
Area MP, Peter Weru said he was working with the office of Registrar of Persons to ensure students who have attained the legal age obtain national ID cards and get enlisted as voters.
Weru said he is targeting more than 3,000 new voters in the exercise.
“Even if the mass voter registration exercise is over, we shall continue registering new voters to increase our numbers. We shall work with the IEBC constituency office,” said Weru.
He said during the just concluded exercise, the constituency which has 80,000 voters registered about 7,000 new voters.
