Stop campaigning for my seat, says Governor

Nairobi - Nyeri governor Nderitu Gachagua has told his political rivals to stop campaigning for his seat.
Gachagua said there are no elections and therefore those interested in the gubernatorial seat should stop early campaigns.
Speaking at Kamukunji stadium, Gachagua stated that there were politicians seeking to put the County into electioneering mood and publicize themselves ahead of 2017 general elections.
“Elections are two years away and there are no elections to be held soon. If they give you money just take and use it appropriately. They just want to distract my agenda for the County,” said Gachagua.
He said he will not engage into politics but rather work on delivering his pledges to the constituents.
“I am already an elected leader and am the Governor. I cannot engage in campaigns because there is no vacant seat in Nyeri. That of the Governor is already occupied,” said Gachagua.
