Nakuru - Njoro member of Parliament, Joseph Kiuna has called on the government to impose strict controls on betting company Sportpesa saying that it will finish Kenyan youths.
Kiuna said that most young men and women are wasting their hard earned fortunes in betting that yields nothing.
He said strict controls should be put in place to save Kenyan youth from poverty.
Speaking Tuesday in Nakuru, Kiuna said that young people keen on making quick money are being fleeced by Sportpesa.

"Instead of our young men and women working hard to get rich, they are busy wasting their time and money on this thing called Sportpesa and most of them are even selling household items to get money for betting. They are not looking for jobs because they have been fooled that Sportpesa will make them rich overnight," said Kiuna.
"The government must wake up and realise that its young population is being wasted and impose strict controls on Sportpesa and other betting firms that are making billions of shillings to the detriment of poor Kenyan youths," he said.
He advised youths to work hard saying that it is the only way of getting rich and having a good life.
"What comes easily goes easily," he emphasized.
