Speaker Muturi lacks wisdom to lead National Assembly, says Jubilee MP

04 April 2016, 09:57 Jackson Okata

Nakuru - A Jubilee member of Parliament has said that the Speaker of National Assembly, Justin Muturi lacks wisdom to lead the August House.

Kuresoi south MP, Zakayo Cheruiyot said that Muturi is a one-sided and biased Speaker who cannot control the House.

He added that the friction and chaos that have been witnessed in the 11th Parliament are as a result of Muturi's lack of wisdom.

Speaking Saturday in Kuresoi town, Cheruiyot said that most chaos being witnessed in the National Assembly could be avoided only the Speaker was neutral and non-partisan.

"The 11th Parliament has a Speaker who is openly biased and lacks wisdom which is a key requirement for his position,"said Cheruiyot.

"Muturi cannot handle disputes between two sides in the House because of his bias and hatred for the opposition and he is behind the chaos occurring in the House," he added.

He accused Muturi of being too quick to punish opposition members but being lenient to Jubilee members who misbehave.
