Sossion, KNUT broke

Nairobi - The Kenya National Union of Teachers KNUT is broke.
According to sources in the know, the KNUT leadership led by Secretary Wilson Sossion can barely commit their daily chores thanks to the lack of funds.
The financial state is thanks to the Teachers Service Commision TSC's failure to remit members' dues for the last nine months.
This followed a pay dispute between the two bodies last year which saw teachers not report to work for 5 weeks.
The TSC swore it would not hand out the dues as punishment to KNUT and thus far it is working.
" The national office is handicapped. The branches are in dissaray. It is a sad situation," the source stated.
When reached for comment, Sossion alluded to the lack of payment from the TSC.
" KNUT is not a limited company. You know how we survive," he stated.
It is not yet clear when and whether the TSC is planning to effect the payments with top leadership refusing to comment on the matter when reached by News24.
