Sonko will leave, Jubilee MP warns Uhuru

Nairobi - A Jubilee Coalition MP fears that Nairobi Senator Mike Mbuvi Sonko might quit the ruling coalition.
According to Starehe MP Maina Kamanda, the Jubilee Party must do free and fair nominations to ensure that leaders such as Sonko are not forced to seek election in the 2017 polls elsewhere.
He insists that reports that Eugene Wamalwa has been favoured to be the nominee for the Nairobi Governor's race are true and must not pass.
" The important things is to have free and fair nominations. That will mean a unified party. Otherwise, it is a recipe for disaster," he told News24.
He said that it would be a big loss for influential persons like Sonko to leave if not treated fairly.
" A situation where important leaders are leaving because they feel things are not fair must not be condoned," he added.
Sonko has already stated that in case the nominations set for February 2017 are not fair, he will not hesitate to leave the Jubilee Coalition.
