Sonko to blame for Nairobi Doctor's strike, Kidero accuses
28 September 2016, 15:09
Nairobi - Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero has accused the Jubilee Party of funding the doctors strike currently taking place in Nairobi County.
Kidero Wednesday pointed a finger at political forces that are pushing hard for the strike to continue to discredit him and undermine his 2017 election candidacy.
He said that some senior politicians in the city who he knows well are behind the scheme.
" The County does not owe doctors any money at all and any grievances have been solved amicably and we have proof," he said at County Hall.
He stated that he would not lie down and let politicians derail affairs at County Hall.
" We pay salaries in a timely manner and in those cases that are not, there are means to addressing the matter, not striking," he added.
Kidero has called on the doctors to resume duty immediately or face disciplinary action.
