Sonko supports Raila over Eurobond
09 December 2015, 15:19
Nairobi - Nairobi Senator Mike Mbuvi Sonko says that CORD leader Raila Odinga is right to ask about the Eurobond payments and that Jubilee Coalition leaders should stop insulting him about it.
Sonko says that Raila just like every other Kenyan must demand to know how public funds are used and that there is nothing wrong with him doing so.
" On this Eurobond we stand with Kenyans on knowing how the fund was spent. Because of this we must all put our differences and unearth the truth because nobody is above the law," Sonko said.
" I was mentioned in a dossier some time back but my Jubilee colleagues did not stand in solidarity with me. They also ignored the fact that Waiguru was fired. It's only fair that we stand with Kenyans," he added.
Raila has insisted that the government make public the Eurobond transactions, saying that he has information that as much as KES 100 billion of the KES 250 billion has been misused.
His utterances though have been met with rebuke by Jubilee Coalition leaders who have been angered by his move, saying that he is trying to destabilize government.
He is set to meet the Ethics and Anti Corruption Commision EACC to explain his comments.
