Nairobi - Nairobi Senator Gideon Mbuvi alias Mike Sonko has been summoned to appear before Mombasa court to shade some lights over the where abouts of outlawed Mombasa Republican Council outfit Chair Omar Mwamnuadzi.
Mombasa Chief Magistrate Douglas Ogoti told the Court on Tuesday that Sonko appeared to be the first surety of Mwamnuadzi since October 2012 when Mwamnuadzi together with 21 others MRC members were arrested at Kombani area in Kwale County for indulging in secession activities.
Ogoti said that Sonko failed to appear in Court on Tuesday even after he was ordered to do so two weeks ago in an earlier ruling by the Chief Magistrate.
Mwamnuadzi is accused of harboring a fire arm and other dangerous weapons as well as leading secession push in an outlawed outfit MRC at the Coast.
The Chief Magistrate further told the court that Mwamnuadzi has been evading court sessions for several times now saying that he was taken ill but according to Mr. Ogoti the court has not been sufficiently provided with hospital documents to prove the same.
Sonko was ordered to appear before the Mombasa law court on the 15th of August this year since he was the surety of Mwamnuadzi but failed to honor the same on Tuesday morning.
He has been ordered to appear before the court on 23rd of September this year to reveal the whereabouts of Mwamnuadzi.
