Sonko: Nairobi governorship will be between clowns and doers

Nairobi - As the Nairobi County 2017 gubernatorial race shapes up the County’s Senator Mike Sonko says it will be between talkers and doers.
Sonko has already declared interest in vying for the post in the next polls and is determined to unseat Governor Evans Kidero and become the second Nairobi Governor.
“The 2017 Nairobi gubernatorial race will be between clowns in suits (most of who are talkers) versus doers, leaders who act on problems,” the Senator said in Nairobi on Thursday.
The ruling Jubilee coalition faces an acid test during the nomination process between Senator Sonko, Dagoretti South MP Dennis Waweru, nominated MP Johnson Sakaja and former Starehe MP, Bishop Margaret Wanjiru.

Reports have also indicated that Water and Irrigation Cabinet Secretary, Eugene Wamalwa might be the latest entrant in the race.
Former Devolution Cabinet Secretary Anne Waiguru had declared interest in the seat but later opted out.
It is not yet clear who will challenge Governor Kidero for the Orange Democratic Movement party ticket ahead of the polls.
