Nairobi - The race for the Nairobi Governor's seat is set to be intense come the 2017 elections.
Deputy Governor Jonathan Mweke says that Sonko, who is eyeing the seat on a Jubilee coalition ticket has nothing to offer in his brain thus the use of force to try unseat incumbent Evans Kidero.
Mweke was referring to the incident in which Sonko and Kidero had a scuffle during a Senate sitting.
He says that the race to be the next Nairobi Governor will not be a walk in the park for anyone and especially Sonko.
" Some people think Nairobi belongs to them. Some do not have an agenda
in their brains. That is why they come with blows because upstairs
there's nothing," he said Sunday.
"If Sonko wants to run for Governor, let him come with his party so we face off. The way we
trounced Ferdinand Waititu is the same way we will beat
Sonko," he added.
Sonko and Kidero are the front runners for the seat, with Kidero to be supported by CORD to retain his seat while Sonko still needs to face competition in his Jubilee Party to have any chance of winning the seat.
