Should a woman support a man financially?

I read an interesting article titled, 'Never help a man unless you are his mother.' The gist of the article was that men should strive to overcome obstacles and if one helps them, they may never outgrow boyish behavior of being dependent and immature. It resonated well with the female populace that it was targeting and the writer who happens to be a man got several positive comments.
The article was discouraging ladies from giving any financial support to the men they are dating and also not to be involved in his struggles. The writer asks the ladies to wait for the man to be processed by the fire: “Let him burn and if he was meant to be a man then he will come out refined."
There could be some truth in these saying but we all know that people can go far and wide to get an excuse not to help you when you are in need. They prefer rather to throw you under the bus and forget about you. This is not so for a true friend much less our loving God.

Let's consider the story of the mother eagle and the eaglets. She destroys the nest and drops the young ones from the cliff to train them on how to exercise the wings and fly. However, she is always nearby observing the progress and flies under to pick the scared eaglets and take them back to safety.
God also identifies Himself as a Goldsmith and He never leaves His eyes off the 'metal' when under intense heat. This is the most critical stage in purification and if the temperatures are not monitored, the metal can be destroyed by the fire.
God says He can never leave you nor forsake you. He is the best friend. So if everyone leaves you in times of need, He will always be there to help if you call on Him.
