Nairobi - Former Judiciary Registrar Gladys Boss Shollei and others will be charged over the loss of KES 46 million at the Judiciary.
The office of the Director of Public Prosecutions DPP Keriako Tobiko has recommended the prosecution of the former Judiciary Chief Registrar and seven other staffers over the irregular payment.
In a statement Thursday, Tobiko said this was with regard to claims that the payment was made for work not done.
The payment was allegedly made to Timsales company for the construction of the Mavoko law courts.
" There is sufficient evidence to support charges against Shollei, former deputy chief registrar Kakai Kissinger, former supply chain management director Martin Okwata and former finance director Benedict Omollo, accounts controller Wycliffe Obunde, former legal counsel officer Nicholas Okemwa, transport officer Nicholas Mbeba and former ICT director Thomas Atak.
Tobiko issued the directive in line with recommendations of the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission EACC.
