Bungoma - Police in Bungoma are investigating the mysterious death of a cleric at Lutungu village in Kanduyi constituency.
It is claimed that 44-year-old Pastor Caleb Sifuna of the Free Salvation Life Ministries fell from his seat and died on the spot while waiting to preach on Sunday.
The congregation was drawn into somber mood after the clergy was declared dead by the medics who were called to treat him.
Bishop Nahashon Khaemba confirmed that the clergy had been sick for a short time but had recuperated and was to deliver his first sermon after recovery.

“The devil is a liar; we have lost a trusted and dedicated servant of God. We have nobody to blame; it has happened and praise the Lord, He had good plans for him. As a Church we are mourning,” he said.
Bishop Khaemba noted that the clergy had received treatment and healed and they were shocked by his mysterious death.
“We treat but God heals. The late had improved the congregation in the church and what has taken place is a great set back to the church and the community. We pray that we get another servant who is dedicated to his work like Sifuna,” said Bishop Khaemba.
His body was taken to Bungoma County Referral hospital awaiting postmortem to ascertain the cause of his death.
