Laikipia - A teacher at a primary school in Laikipia North is on the spot for allegedly impregnating a Class Four pupil.
The pupil informed the school Guidance and Counseling teacher, who has since been transferred from the school, that the male teacher made her pregnant.
The case was also reported to police and education officers in the sub-County.
The education officers including the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) Laikipia County director, Abubakar Hassan visited the school several times to investigate the matter.

“I went to the school personally to investigate and I had initially sent three teams to probe the matter,” he said.
He added that a report has already been filed and handed over to the head offices for verdict.
However, area residents have defended the accused teacher saying he is not responsible for the pregnancy and even pledged to raise funds to conduct a paternity test to prove that he is not responsible.
They said the pupil was made pregnant by another man who is now living with her after paying the bride price to her parents.
