Nakuru - Police officers were forced to fire in the air to disperse rowdy students of the Rift Valley institute of science and technology who had barricaded the road demanding audience with Education Cabinet Secretary, Fred Matiang'i.
The students blocked the road leading from the institution and started stoning the convoy as the CS made his way out of the institution where students have gone on rampage three times in a span of one week.

Matiang'i had met the college Principal and Board to resolve issues raised by students over bungled elections, mismanagement and tribalism.
But Matiang'i left the meeting hurriedly without addressing the students, prompting them to stone his convoy.
Police officers fired in the air to disperse the students before the convoy sped off. The CS was not hurt in the melee.
