Shabaab terrorist killed by own bomb in northern Kenya

Nairobi - An Al Shabaab terrorist has been killed by an explosion that was being set up by him and his team in Elwak northern Kenya, Police have announced.
The incident took place Saturday after the terrorists tried to set up a roadside bomb at Dabasiti to try target Policemen who had been trailing them.
The one terrorist died on the spot whilst a manhunt is ongoing for the rest.
" They were escaping from Police on foot when the incident took place, Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinett told News24 on phone.
" We are pursuing the rest in the meantime and are confident of catching up with them," he added.
Boinett thanked members of the public for alerting Police over the matter and asked them to continue being vigilant.
" I thank members of the public for alerting us and plead that they be more vigilant," he added.
The incident comes just a day after a police officer was killed by Shabaab terrorists in Lamu.
The terrorists also attacked a police escort vehicle on Friday as they upped the ante in efforts to cause disharmony in the country.
