Nairobi - Police in Gilgil are holding a senior KDF officer for allegedly defiling his 13-year-old house-help.
The minor is currently admitted in critical condition following the incident that has left area residents in anger after the harrowing ordeal.
A witness who declined to be named said that the couple who housed the minor was living in GG estate near Gilgil town where incident occurred.
“ The couple had left for their place of work when the suspect who is a soldier returned and repeatedly abused the minor leaving her for the dead,” said the witness.
The witness added that they were attracted by screams and a trail of blood from the house and informed police who moved in and took the minor to hospital.
Gilgil Children officer Eunice Njuguna confirmed the incident adding that the minor was in great pain but under medication.
Njuguna said that they were seeking for a safe-house where the girl would be housed while recovering as they sought her parents.
“ The minor had been employed as a house help when the incident occurred and we are investigating how she kept out of school before taking the necessary measures,” she said.
Gilgil OCPD Sarah Koki confirmed the arrest adding that the suspect would be charged with various offences in court.
“ The suspect has since been arrested after the incident while the minor is under the care of children officer recuperating,” she said.
