Schoolgirl murdered by boyfriend after a dispute

Narok - An 18-year-old schoolgirl was murdered by her boyfriend in Kelongeti village in Ntamama sub-location in Transmara East area in Narok County early Monday morning.
The deceased, who was a Form Four candidate at Ole Melili Secondary School had visited her boyfriend when they differed over an undisclosed issue leading to the stabbing.
It is alleged that the boyfriend, Edwin Cheruiyot stabbed her severally in the head and neck.
Police are holding the 18-year-old boyfriend for questioning before arraigning him in court next week.

Confirming the incident, Transmara East OCPD, Merengo Moherai said the girl had gone to visit her boyfriend and at night they picked a quarrel that spilled into a bitter scuffle before culminating into the murder.
He said neighbours were woken by screams from the man's house at 3:00am Monday and when they went to check, they found the girl lying in a pool of blood. They arrested the suspect and handed him over to police.
The body is lying at the Kilgoris District Hospital Mortuary awaiting postmortem and further investigations into the incident.
