School girls injured at a disco in Migori

Nairobi - Five girls are nursing injuries after being attacked and injured at a night disco dance at Kamkuyu village in Central Kamagambo of Rongo Sub-county.
According to area Chief, Judith Ojwando, the teenagers were attacked by a group of men as they walked home, after leaving the disco club at midnight.
The victims were rushed to Rongo sub-county hospital, where they are receiving treatment.

According to a parent of one of the victims two other teenagers, who have not been identified, escaped the attack, and their where about is still not known.
He said that before the attack, some men had shown interest in the girls, who defied their advances, prompting a physical bashing of the helpless girls.
And speaking from her hospital bed, one of the victims told the press that some four armed men, riding on a motor bike tried to hijack them after they refused to give in to their sexual advances.
The men later pounced on them with crude weapons, injuring them seriously.
However, the attackers escaped through a sugar cane plantation, when a group of villagers who had heard the girls’ distress calls arrived at the scene.
