Samburu herder saves dumped baby from dogs

Samburu - It was a miraculous occurrence for Lechikito villagers, Samburu County after a one day old baby was rescued alive from a ditch where it had been thrown.
The baby was discovered by a shepherd herding goats in the morning and rushed to Samburu County Referral Hospital.
According to Wanga Leleruk, the herder who discovered the infant, he rescued the baby from a pack of dogs that almost mauled it.

"I went and told my mother to who in the real sense went and cut the baby umbilical cord and through her assistance the baby was dressed and we went to report the matter to the nearest administration police station in the area for rescue,” he said.
Confirming the incidence, Samburu County Deputy Commander Rushid Hussein said that they have since launched a hunt for the child’s mother who is still at large.
