Sacked CS's still enjoying power trappings

Nakuru - A Nakuru-based lobby group has claimed that all the Cabinet Secretaries who were sacked during the recent Cabinet reshuffle are still enjoying the privileges that come with being a CS at the expense of tax payers.
The Nakuru corruption watchdog claims that all six former CS's who were shown the door are still enjoying the services of a government driver and security detail paid by the State.
Speaking Tuesday in Nakuru town led by the group chairman, James Wanyoike, they claimed that some of the CS's have not surrendered government vehicles as required.
"The Cabinet Secretaries who were sacked are still enjoying the trappings of power because they still have the security detail provided by the government and they still own government vehicles," said Wanyoike.
"It's wrong for the government to continue using taxpayers money to take care of people who are private citizens," he added.
Wanyoike claimed that the Jubilee government is reluctant to recall the security details attached to the sacked officials and repossessing the cars as way of retaining their support.
"We know the government does not want to become enemies with people like Charity Ngilu and Anne Waiguru and that is why they are still providing these services to them because they have 2017 in sight and mind," he said.
