Nairobi - Deputy President William Ruto's close aide Farouk Kibet has denied involvement in the stealing of KES 791 million at the National Youth Service NYS.
Kibet was questioned about his part in siphoning the amount out of the NYS to private accounts using fictitious deals awarded to some companies including some linked to Kibet.
He told officers at the Criminal Investigations Department CID that he has no clue who Joyce Irungu is.
Irungu is the lady in whose accounts the KES 791 million was deposited into in the aftermath of the fraudulent deals.
Officers are of the opinion that others, including Kibet used Irungu to get the money out of the NYS.
The investigations are ongoing as pressure reigns over the loss of the money at the NYS.
The investigations are also likely to centre around Devolution CS Anne Waiguru whose Ministry is in-charge of the NYS.
She has been penned in as a prosecution witness in the case.
Kibet has been Ruto's close associate for a long time and the two are usually seen together in political functions.
