Ruto invites Moi to Nakuru rally

Nairobi - DP William Ruto has invited former President Daniel Moi to the thanksgiving rally in Nakuru over the weekend.
The former President has cut a quiet figure in as far as Rift Valley politics is concerned, but is said to be behind the revival of independence party KANU.
With DP William Ruto now free of the ICC issues and the DP seeking to unite Kalenjins ahead of the 2017 General Elections, he is keen to rope in Moi to his side.
The belief is that there is a chance KANU can and will support Jubilee come 2017 if Ruto has his way.
" The DP wants the former President to come as a sign of Kalenjin unity," a Jubilee source told News24.
Whether Moi will attend is another issue on its own.
He has been keen to stay off the political path and let his children run the show in that regard, with Baringo Senator Gideon Moi leading the way in that regard.
It is also not certain whether Gideon and KANU chiefs will attend the rally.
" There is no word yet," a source close to the Baringo Senator told News24.
