Nairobi - A Jubilee Member of Parliament has accused Deputy President William Ruto of forcing water and irrigation CS, Eugene Wamalwa on Nairobians as their next Governor.
Kuresoi south MP, Zakayo Cheruiyot accused the DP for infringing on the democratic rights of Nairobi residents by trying to force them into making certain political choices.
Cheruiyot said that Wamalwa was not willing to contest for the Nairobi governorship but was forced by Ruto to do so.
He said that Wamalwa’s heart is in Trans Nzioa County where he wanted to contest but Ruto lured him into shifting to Nairobi.

“Wamalwa doesn’t understand the dynamics of Nairobi politics and his heart is not in the city but he is being sponsored and pushed by Ruto who wants to indirectly take control of the city,” said Cheruiyot.
“The DP is trying to infringe on the democratic rights of Nairobians by forcing Wamalwa on them,” he said.
The MP added that Wamalwa doesn’t fit in Nairobi and is not fit to be elected as the city’s next Governor.
He called on Nairobians to reject any political projects being imposed on them and instead make informed decisions when the time comes.
“Nairobians should reject all those political projects and show these people that they are independent,” he said.
