Nairobi - Deputy President William Ruto does not need the Kikuyu vote to be President, a Jubilee MP has said.
Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi says that the DP is a strong enough candidate on his own to be President.
" Who said you must have the blessings of one community to be President?," he asked.
He stated that the DP as is the case with any politician will ask all Kenyans to vote for him and that he will do the same come 2022.
" The DP will ask Kenyans of all walks of life to vote for him and that includes those from Central Kenya but it is not automatic that they will," he added.
The DP has been embroiled in a turbulent last two weeks which have seen furious debate over whether the Kikuyu community will vote for him come 2022 after President Uhuru Kenyatta retires.
