Ruto blames Raila for 2022 talk

02 July 2016, 10:06 William Korir

Nairobi - Deputy President William Ruto has blamed CORD for the ongoing 2022 succession talk, saying that they are the most likely to gain from the divisions caused within the ruling Jubilee Coalition.

According to the DP, the 2022 talk is based on creating divisions within the ruling coalition and urged supporters not to be swayed by it.

" This talk of the 2022 elections is based on creating divisions within the ruling Coalition and must be ignored," he said.

He accused CORD of forcing through supposed divisions between the Jubilee Coalition support communities, the Kikuyu and Kalenjin and stated categorically that it would not work.

" We are united together to building a strong nation," he added.

There has been serial talk on the 2022 succession plan and whether the Kikuyu community will support DP Ruto once President Uhuru Kenyatta exits the Presidency if he wins come 2017.
