Run for Presidency in 2017, Jubilee MP tells DP Ruto
06 April 2016, 18:13
Nairobi - With the ICC charges out of the way, what next for DP William Ruto? The Presidency?
According to Nandi Hills MP Alfred Keter, the time is now rife for the DP to run for the Presidency as the Jubilee union which was formed to help him and President Uhuru Kenyatta beat the ICC menace is now null and void.
He says that the time is now. 2017 is feasible.
" The aim of Jubilee was to help the two beat ICC. Now that it has happened, Jubilee is over. The DP can go it alone," he said in reacting to the acquittal of the DP.
" Jubilee is dead now that the DP is free," he added.
Whether that will be a possibility for the DP remains to be seen but what is certain is that he is keen on the Presidency at some point.
Most believe, 2022 but whether he will look to do so come 2017 will be a topic of serious discussion.
