Rowdy youth demonstrate outside Governor's office

25 January 2016, 16:50 Wilshere

Nakuru - Hundreds of youths on Monday afternoon demonstrated outside the offices of Nakuru Governor demanding to know the fate of Joseph Chege and Simon Wachira who both went missing on Saturday.

The youths said that the County government of Nakuru should explain what happened to the two since they were abducted three days ago.

“We want to know what happened to the two because it is unacceptable for people just to go missing without any explanation,” said Christopher Karanja.

Karanja said that the two are youth leaders in Nakuru town who have helped many young traders in the town.

He said that police have done nothing to investigate the disappearance the two who were abducted on Saturday by unknown assailants who were armed.

“We demand that the security officials and County government do something,” he said.

The demo forced business owners to close down their businesses during the demo which was cut short by administration police who dispersed them using teargas.

Attempts by the Nakuru East Member of Parliament David Gikaria, who had also gone to inquire about the two at the CID offices, to intervene did not bear fruit.
