Nairobi - The Orange Democratic movement party (ODM) now claims that the party secretary general Ababu Namwamba was given KES 2 billion by deputy President William Ruto to ditch the orange party for Jubilee.
A senior official from the party said that Ababu was also promised the running mate position in 2022 if he decamps from ODM.
The official who sought anonimity said that Ruto has promised Ababu that he will be given a Cabinet Secretary position even if he loses his Budalangi parliamentary seat in 2022.

Speaking Wednesday in Nakuru, the official said that Ababu agreed to Ruto's offer and has bribed 9 members of Parliament from western Kenya to follow him to Jubilee.
"It's a fact that Ruto has given Ababu KES 2 billion so that he can decamp from ODM and he has instructed him to cause chaos in ODM before decamping," he said.
"We know he has bribed other ODM MPs from western to follow him when he decamps," he said.
On Tuesday, Ababu led nine ODM members of Parliament from western Kenya in protesting over what they described as disrespect from senior party officials
