Nairobi - Return 20 million ODM campaign money, an MP that has defected to the Jubilee Coalition has been told.
Stephen Kariuki the Mathare MP, recently officially left ODM for the newly formed Jubilee Party less than three years after being elected on an ODM ticket to the seat.
He has been accused by ODM of using the party's resources to join Parliament and then move in a different direction.
And with hostilities over his move to join Jubilee still fresh on the minds of many, Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero has told him to return the KES 20 million that was used to campaign for him to win the seat.
According to Kidero, Kariuki must be a man and return all the money that the party used to help him gain access to public office.
" Kariuki must return the money that we used to campaign for him. He used this party to achieve his personal goals and we will not let it go just like that," Kidero told News24.
Kariuki did not comment on the accusations when reached by News24, saying he had no time for small arguments.
" I have moved on and it is time ODM did the same," he stated.
