Nairobi - A former right hand man to CORD leader Raila Odinga has jumped ship to the Jubilee Coalition.
Franklin Bett, a chief part of the Orange Democratic Movement ODM in recent times as well as a former Roads Minister will contest the Kericho Senate seat on a Jubilee Party ticket.
Bett, a close friend of Raila's had initially retired from active politics but has announced he will seek to replace Charles Keter who has moved on to the Cabinet.
" I will seek election as Kericho Senator in the upcoming by election as I feel I have alot to offer the people of Kericho," he said in a press statement.
His close aides did state though that he will go the Jubilee way.
" He will use the Jubilee ticket. Using ODM or CORD in the Rift Valley would be suicidal," an aide stated.
