Nairobi - CORD leader Raila Odinga has sent a Christmas message to Kenyans.
In his message Thursday, Odinga asked that Kenyans remain peaceful and keep their spirits high in this time of festive mood.
He also asked those that are able to, to come forward and help the needy in this time of sharing.
" Mama Ida and I are very happy to send our warmest greetings and best wishes to all those who are celebrating Christmas. We join with Kenyans everywhere in recognizing the sense of renewed hope and comfort this joyous season brings to our nation and the world,” he said in his statement.
" I am hopeful and optimistic that Kenyans will use this season to reflect deeply on the words of the Pope while he visited," he added.
The CORD leader continued that the 2015 Christmas is a special occasion especially for the Catholic faithful after the country hosted Pope Francis in his maiden visit in the continent.
Raila also took time to wish President Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto a happy Christmas.
" Mama Ida and I take this opportunity to wish my friend and brother President Uhuru Kenyatta, his Deputy William Ruto and their families a very merry Christmas and a Happy New Year,” he offered.
