Nairobi - CORD leader Raila Odinga is headed to Garissa over the weekend.
Raila will hold a number of rallies in the region Saturday as he arrives just a few days after President Uhuru Kenyatta and DP William Ruto toured the greater North Eastern Province.
The CORD leader will seek to sell his agenda to the people of the region as he prepares for his Presidential launch in August and will be followed to the region by a number of ODM leaders.
He will also visit the recently re-opened Garissa University College where he will meet students and lecturers.
Garissa Town MP and Majority Leader in the National Assembly Aden Duale says that the CORD leader is welcome to the region as long as his agenda is not to spread fear to residents.
" He is welcome. This is a free country. What we want is open minded politics and he is welcome to sell his agenda to the people just like the Jubilee Coalition has been doing and will do," he stated.
Raila is looking to be the CORD flag bearer for the 2017 General Elections.
