Nairobi - CORD leader Raila Odinga was secretly sneaked out of a Nakuru hotel where he was meeting community leaders from different communities after rowdy youth stormed the hotel threatening to eject him.
Led by Bahati MP Kimani Ngunjiri, the rowdy youths who overwhelmed the police officers who were around pelted the hotel with stones forcing organizers of meeting to sneak the CORD leader through the hotel backdoor.
" It was the best move for the party leader," a member of the ODM team in Nakuru who asked not to be named told News24.
Ngunjiri led the youth in storming the hotel only to retreat after finding out that Raila had left.
Odinga was at the hotel to meet elders from the Kisii,Luo,Kikuyu and the Ogiek communities in a move said to be a vote hunting mission.
Odinga later held a public rally at Mkarafuu grounds in Nakuru west constituency.
