Nairobi - Will Kalonzo Musyoka leave CORD? Not if coalition leader Raila Odinga has his way.
The Wiper Democratic Party leader has been linked with a switch to the ruling Jubilee Coalition where he has allegedly been offered the leader of the Senate team.
But whether he will go is a question in itself that the CORD leadership is battling and one that CORD leader Odinga is not willing to let happen.
According to sources, Raila has made his stand known. Kalonzo will not leave CORD.
Nor will FORD Kenya leader Moses Wetang'ula.
" The Coalition leader has come out clearly that no one will be leaving CORD and the 2017 elections will be won," the source stated.
" Raila was quick to end any talk of the coalition breaking. He is not ready to lose partners such as Kalonzo," the source added.
Kalonzo has so far been quiet about the reports he is planning to leave CORD.
Raila is said to be ready to back Kalonzo in the 2017 polls if it will mean CORD defeating Jubilee.
" It is not expected but he is open to it," the source added.
The two leaders are said to not be in good books after an MOU agreed in the run up to the 2013 election was allegedly discarded by Raila. It was said to allow Raila back Kalonzo for the 2017 polls.
