Nairobi - CORD leader Raila Odinga is not welcome to the ICC thanksgiving rally in Nakuru, it has emerged.
The CORD leader, it emerged from some sections of the Jubilee Coalition, was invited to the party which is set to take place Saturday in Nakuru.
However, in light of recent comments by the CORD leader who criticized the decision by the ICC to release Deputy President William Ruto and journalist Joshua Sang from their crimes against humanity trial, the CORD leader has been left out of the day's plans.
" The party will centre on positive vibes and not negativity that has emerged from Raila. I do not think anyone will welcome him," a member of the organizing committee for the rally told News24.
The comments are not surprising though, as President Uhuru Kenyatta and the DP also took their time to criticize the CORD leader for his utterances in France during the week.
" It is God who gives people authority and one does not need to falsely accuse others to ascend to power,” he said.
DP Ruto also had his say.
" There is no greater impunity than that by those who plan to jail innocent people for political reasons,” said Ruto.
The rally it is expected, will attract as many as 100,000 people and over 300 political leaders.
