Nairobi - Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero has claimed there are plans to rig him out of the party’s nomination race for Nairobi governor in 2017.
The race for Nairobi governor is expected to be a battle of titans between Jubilee and Cord.
Kidero won the seat in 2013 through ODM ticket (a Cord partner) after beating Jubilee’s TNA Ferdinand Waititu.
IN his letter to party leader, Kidero accuses Junet Mohammed who is the ODM’s director of elections as having a conspirancy to rig him out of Cord nominations.
Kidero said Junet was heard while in a Nairobi eating joint saying Kidero will not be given the Opposition’s ticket to seek reelection.
Kidero asked party leader Raila Odinga to assure him of transparency in the nominations.
When contacted, Junet dismissed laying any plans to bar Kidero.
“I do not have any powers to decide who gets our ticket, the people of Nairobi will decide,” he said.
