" Opposition leader Hon Raila Odinga this afternoon received in his
offices four officers from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission who
had come to summon him to record a statement at the commission’s
headquarters over EuroBond loan".
" He told the officers that he will not appear at the Integrity Centre,
he will not be compelled and he will not be intimidated," the statement
The EACC has threatened to arrest Raila if he does not appear on Monday.
It awaits to be seen what will transpire but according to a number of leaders close to the CORD leader, there will be trouble if the EACC does not play the issue calmly.
" We ask that the EACC respect the status of the Former Prime Minister. The move to intimidate him is backward and will not bear fruit, CORD co Principal Moses Wetangula said.
The EACC is seeking have Raila record a statement over his allegations made touching on the controversial EuroBond issue.
The CORD leader is on record as stating that the Bond has been misused by the government and that as much as KES 100 of the 250 Billion in the bond cannot be traced.
